One week in Greece March 2004

Saturday March 13th

Our school, Kungsskolan in Örkelljunga Sweden, takes part in a Comenius project called
Multilingual Europa. Two teachers (Ulla and I) flew with two pupils to Greece to meet pupils
and teachers at our partner school in Chalkida, Evia, Greece.

Here you can see Erika and Johanna in the bus from the airport Eleftherios Venizelos.

We stayed on night in a hotel called Hermes in the center of Athens.
From the roof terrace there is a view over Acropolis. Unfortunately it was
rather cold the day when we arrived.

Another view from the roof terrace.

We took a walk to the Acropolis. Johanna, Ulla and Erika in a narrow road
in Plaka.

View from Acropolis. You can see parts of the ancient agora with the efaisteion
temple.

We couldn't go into Acropolis, because it closed very early, at 14.30. We walked around
for a while and then we went back to Monastiraki.

Athens has a new metro, but we took the old line to Piraeus and watched the big ships.
I had never seen such a big catamaran before. I wonder where it's going.

We went back to our hotel and had good nights sleep. The teachers from Portugal had arrived
and there were also two teachers from our partner school in Imperia, Italy. They stayed in another
hotel, but we were going to meet them Sunday morning.
